Blinged Out Bras
In Honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Many people wear pink to support breast cancer, but a group of employees at Bolingbrook Adventist Hospital went a little further, and blinged out some bras.
This unique fundraiser encouraged everyone to open up their wallets and donate a dollar to cast a vote on their favorite bling. All proceeds raised benefitted the hospital’s breast care center.
Ronda Klocko organized the event, knowing the difference it could make to breast cancer patients. “It will help better the equipment for our patients down the road, and make it a better experience for our patients down the road, too,” said Klocko.
“It makes me feel good to be a part of making a difference, especially in the lives of women,” said Rosalyn Johnson, Director of Health Information Management at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital.
About one in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.
If caught at an early stage, breast cancer is 98% treatable.
