The work of 39 area elementary school student artists appeared in the 2017-2018 Crime Prevention Calendar.
These artists were the winners of the annual competition, where elementary school students submit art with crime prevention tips – from using the buddy system, to avoiding stranger danger, to locking your doors.
The crime-fighting kids were recognized by Naperville Police Chief Bob Marshall and Mayor Steve Chirico in a special ceremony.
“Through the collaboration of the public school districts, private schools, longtime community partners, and sponsors, we are able to make Naperville a safer place to live and work,” said Marshall.
23,000 calendars were printed and given out to Districts 203, 204, and local private school students.
This is the 31st year that the Naperville Police Department has created the calendars.
