A Grand Menorah was glowing bright this evening in Naperville.
The sixth night of Hanukah was celebrated at City Hall as Naperville’s Grand Menorah was lit, an event hosted by the Chabad Jewish Center of Naperville.
“The message of Hanukah is not just something that happens in the past but something that many people can learn from, regardless of what religion we’re a part of, Jews and non-Jews alike. It’s a beautiful message of light over darkness, therefore we want to convey that message,” said Rabbi Mendy Goldstein of the Chabad Jewish Center of Naperville.
Following Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico’s lighting of the menorah was a prayer accompanied by Hanukah music. Traditional Hanukah dancing, food and drinks were also served at the celebration.
This was the seventh year of the Chabad’s Grand Menorah lighting in Naperville.
