Much of Downtown Naperville is currently under water after a storm system brought more than six inches of rain to the area.
All bridges in the downtown area remain closed until further notice. Those include the Washington Street, Main Street, and Eagle Street bridges as well as the Jefferson Avenue Bridge.
Signs are posted to reroute drivers. Also, a map showing road closures and streets standing in water is available to view on the City’s website at Naperville.il.us.
City officials urge people to avoid downtown, all ponds, and the DuPage River.
Current road closures that could effect your morning commute are:
Naper Blvd. from Chicago Ave. to Hobson Rd.
Washington St. south of Royce Rd.
North Aurora Rd. west of Rt. 59 and between Rt. 59 and Tudor
111th-248th west to the Railroad
