There’s no shortage of costume inspiration this Halloween: with controversial candidates, superhero squads and classic characters all available for your dress-up desires.
But before you hit the costume shop and commit to a purchase, there’s another option to consider.
“Kidz Kabaret costumes thousands of kids. So we have a very extensive costume room,” shares Kandiss Hernandez, the executive director of Fair Lady Productions. “And so for our members, we allow them to come in and search for costumes, picking something out for Halloween, and why not make that available to everybody.”
With costumes for those aged 4 and up, the process is easy. Just call to make an appointment, and they’ll help create a look to make you the star of any party.
And the choices are many. “I have every size of Alice in Wonderland. I have a lot of sizes of Dorothy, of Belle,” says Hernandez, adding, “We have pirates, we have Indians, we have – I mean you could just really go on our website: go onto the gallery, and see the different shows we have, that’ll show you the different costumes too, if you’re looking for ideas.”
At just 20 dollars for a full costume rental, 10 if you’re a member, it’s a super deal, since you can keep it for several days.
Hernandez explained how it works. “Once it’s rented you can pick it up, so some will have it for a couple weeks, but depending on when you decide to come in – it’ll be from that day until after Halloween.”
It’s definitely a choice worth snooping into. And in case you’re curious – Google Frightgeist has compiled the top trending costumes nationally and locally: with Harley Quinn, the Joker, and superheroes leading the pack for both.
