Longwood Elementary School third grade teacher Rich Vine had a unique way to fundraise for the Naperville Marathon.
“Today we have our Longwood leader assembly and during the assembly the kids are having the opportunity to duct tape me to a wall as a means for fundraising for Team IPEF,” said Vine.
Students could buy a piece of duct tape for $1 and then help stick Vine to the wall, with no limit on how many pieces they could purchase. In total, over 220 pieces of tape were used, and nearly $450 raised.
Vine is running for Team IPEF, which benefits District 204, and he is their top fundraiser, bringing in over $5,000. This will be Vine’s first ever marathon.
Team IPEF has over 250 runners participating in the Healthy driven Naperville Marathon and Half Marathon.
