Naperville Sunrise Rotary Coat Drive

The Naperville Sunrise Rotary Club has an easy plan to ensure that everyone is kept warm this holiday season.

The Naperville Sunrise Rotary Club’s annual coat drive is taking place now until December 12. All around town local businesses have donation boxes for anyone willing to donate winter wear to those in need. Everything from coats, scarves, hats and gloves of all sizes are accepted.

Organizer of the coat drive, Jeanette Oakeshott, says the drive gives those less fortunate, one less thing to worry about this holiday season.

“I really feel that we’re making a difference, it’s very easy for everyone to donate because they don’t need the coats anymore anyway, it’s a very easy way to make a true difference to other society members. We have merchants, offices now and even neighborhoods collecting for us. Places like here, the bookstore, the toy store. Just look for the box, put your coat in there, no one’s going to ask questions, it’s very, very easy,” said organizer of the coat drive, Jeanette Oakeshott.

The organizations receiving the donations this year are Hesed House in Aurora, Sharing Connections in Lisle, and the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans in Wheaton.
