Naperville area seniors took to the track to help fight caner.
For one week seniors and staff at the Naperville Senior Center have been participating in the mini Relay For Life.
Family and friends of those at the facility sponsor seniors to walk or roll laps around the indoor track in order to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
“It’s their opportunity to give back to the community. So many things are given to them because they have physical disabilities or cognitive disability and this is their chance to really give back to the community,” said Pam Cooper, Executive Director of the Naperville Senior Center.
The team at Naperville Senior Center raised just over $3,000 through the event, far surpassing their original goal of $500.
This is the second year the senior center has hosted the mini Relay For Life.
