Recently our city celebrated the Fourth of July weekend the best way we know how; ribs, music and doing good.
Ribfest 2016 has come and gone and according to the Naperville Police Department we had record breaking attendance this year with up to 50,000 attendees a day.
Not hard to imagine with top-notch entertainment every night, 12 rib vendors from all over the country and the sunny skies.
“We had great participation and partnership with the city of Naperville, the Naperville Park District and our logistics providers and of course the weather – I mean the weather was just unbelievable. We were so blessed to have great days setting up and got everything done early and then it really helped our attendance all four days,” said this year’s Ribfest chair, Ray Kinney.
The event wasn’t all-just for fun, the Exchange Club uses 100 percent of the proceeds to donate to more than 50 local charities to fight domestic violence and child abuse.
Throughout the four-day festival only one arrest was made.
