Naperville’s Public Library System is caught in a balancing act.
Residents could be paying $35 more for library services next year.
The Naperville Public Library’s Board of Trustees approved the $14.27 million tax levy, about eight percent higher than last year.
Instead of lowering the tax levy, the library’s extra funds will be used for two new roofs at two libraries.
The request is part of the city’s total property tax proposal, and must be approved by city council.
