District 204 Tax Levy Approved
At last night’s District 204 meeting, the board approved a tax levy of $292.1 million. This represents an increase of 3.9 percent over last year’s levy, but new construction and rising property values means that the average homeowner will only see about a 2.1 percent increase in what they’re paying to the district. At 84 percent of the district’s total revenue, local property taxes are its most reliable source of income. This levy is the final version of the tentative levy approved at the November 13 board meeting.

Naperville Football Players in NFL
Now that the high school football season is over and the NFL is entering the home stretch of the regular season, here’s a reminder for where you can find Naperville natives playing in the pros. Naperville North quarterback Matt Lacosse was signed to the Denver Broncos active roster as a tight end yesterday after spending most of the season with the New York Giants practice squad. The Broncos will play the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday Night Football, where Lacosse will oppose his former U of I teammate and Naperville native, running back Josh Ferguson. Another former Huskie, James O’Shaughnessy has set a new career high in catches and yards for the AFC South division leading Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags host the Houston Texans on Sunday. And finally former Naperville Central tight end Cameron Brate leads the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with six receiving touchdowns and is third on the team in yards. The Bucs play the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.
