Student Charged:

A Naperville Central High School student has been charged with bringing knives to school. The student had a detention hearing yesterday in DuPage County Court, where he was ordered to home detention. The student allegedly brought four knives with him to school on November 14, carrying one on his person and three in his backpack. Another student alerted a school resource officer to the threat. The defendant’s next court date is December 1.

Officials Doing Good:

Mayor Steve Chirico and other local elected officials recently joined forces to do good. They teamed up with other volunteers at Loaves & Fishes Community Services to pack holiday meals for those in need. The project was part of Giving DuPage’s “Do Good DuPage” campaign, an effort to get 150,000 DuPage County residents to make a difference in their community in a positive way. Loaves & Fishes hopes to distribute meals to about 3,200 families.

Winter Clothing Drive:

And an easy way you can do good is by taking part in the winter clothing drive sponsored by the Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise. Over 40 boxes have been placed around town, in both businesses and all Naperville fire stations. Those donating are welcome to drop off coats, jackets, hats, scarves, mittens and gloves, of all sizes. The drive runs through December 4, and beneficiaries include Hesed House, DuPage PADS and Sharing Connections.

All Conference Football Team:

The CCIW has announced the all conference football team and the list is packed full of North Central College players.
