Steven Tyler at Ribfest:

You won’t want to miss a thing at the 2018 Ribfest, as event organizers have announced Steven Tyler and the Loving Mary Band will be appearing as a headliner at the summer fest. The rock icon will be taking the stage July 7. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, November 22 at 6 p.m. on


Tomorrow at the Yellow Box Community Christian Church you can check out TEDxNaperville. The annual conference welcomes 20 speakers sharing ideas meant to inspire, inform and challenge. Two of this year’s speakers have local ties: Rich Wistocki, a detective with the Naperville Police Department and child cyber crime expert, and Janet Derrick, the vice president of the CARES program for Loaves and Fishes Community Services. Soccer All State Team:

Now that the boys soccer season is over, the All State team was recently announced by the Illinois Coaches Association. The state champion Huskies have two All State members, junior Colin Iverson, who scored the game-winning header in the state final against Libertyville, and goalie Tommy Welch, who did not allow a single goal in seven post-season games. Senior Ethan Harvey and sophomore Ty Konrad were selected to the All Sectional Team.

Naperville Central senior Nate Zain was also named to the All State team, while his Redhawk teammate Zack Kokes was All Sectional after leading the team in goals.

Billy Heneidas of Neuqua Valley was the lone district 204 All State member thanks to his 16 goals and 11 assists for the Wildcats.

Metea Valley finished one of the best seasons in program history; juniors Evan Lang and James Lynch were honored as All Sectional selections after helping the Mustangs to a regional title.

Waubonsie Valley senior Giacomo Parrino was also named All Sectional, leading the Warriors in assists on the season.

And Benet Academy’s Nicholas Trakszelis also earned an All Sectional selection, helping the Redwings to a share of the East Suburban Conference Championship.
