At last night’s Planning and Zoning Meeting, the commission approved a new 1.72-acre subdivision near the Route 59 train station. The new development will replace a parking lot with 19 townhomes in 2 6-unit buildings and 1 3-unit building. Each unit will have its own attached garage and driveway. The proposed subdivision must now be approved by City Council.
What’s stressing students out? That’s the subject of a new survey developed by KidsMatter along with North Central College associate professor of psychology Patricia Schact. Seventh graders and tenth graders in Districts 203 and 204 can anonymously take the electronic survey once they have parental permission. The results will be presented at the State of the Kids community forum on January 30.
Christkindlmarket Mug Revealed:
The 2017 Christkindlmarket souvenir mug design has been revealed. Naperville has its own this year – a punch kettle shaped maroon and gold mug decorated with Naperville scenes and the Christkindlmarket Naperville logo. There’s also a Kinder Club Snowman Mug featuring Opa, or grandpa, snowman. The market kicks off on November 24th at Naper Settlement, and will feature 47 vendors.
Girls Volleyball Battle:
Two of the state’s best girls volleyball teams clashed at Waubonsie Valley last night for the sectional championship. Benet battled throughout the match to keep its season alive, but Minooka continued its destructive run through the Naperville area teams. The Indians won both sets 25-20 and will move on to the Supersectional. The Redwings finish their season with a 32 and 7 record.
