Sister City Citizens:
Yesterday at city hall, Mayor Steve Chirico granted honorary citizenship to 35 students from Nitra, Slovakia – Naperville’s sister city. The group is being hosted here in town by Neuqua Valley High School, for a 10-day exchange program made possible in part by the Sister Cities Commission. Their trip to city hall was part of their special “City of Naperville Day,” which also included taking a tour of some local landmarks and all five area high schools.
In recognition of Dyslexia Awareness Month, the 95th Street Library is hosting a dyslexia simulation tonight at 6:30. Parents, families and teachers can participate in different exercises, getting a chance to write, listen and read in a similar way to those who suffer from dyslexia. The workshop is meant to help others better understand those who suffer from the learning disorder.
