District 204 Boundary Change
District 204’s boundaries are on the move again. At last night’s meeting, the Board of Education voted 5-1 to approve changes that will reduce overcrowding at Brooks, Brookdale, and Peterson elementary schools. Approximately 215 students will be affected by the changes. Parents who spoke at public comment expressed disappointment that the board was pursuing a small change instead of a district-wide one. Some board members said they saw the need for a long-term adjustment too but felt that something needed to be done to reduce overcrowding in the short-term.
