Plackowska Found Guilty:

The verdict is in. Elzbieta Plackowska has been found guilty in the stabbing deaths of her son Justin, and 5-year-old Olivia Dworakowski. DuPage County judge Robert Miller handed down the decision after a two-week bench trial. Plackowska’s attorneys had tried to prove the 45-year-old Naperville woman was insane at the time she committed the murders in October 2012, but the judge felt Plackowska knew what she was doing was wrong. She was convicted on 10 counts of first-degree-murder and two counts of aggravated animal cruelty for killing two dogs that same night. Plackowska will face a sentence of natural life in prison, and is due back in court on November 21.

Trial Date for Tent Fire Arson:

A trial date of November 28th has been set for the man accused of setting fire to the tent of well-known Naperville squatter, Scott Huber. James Povolo has been charged with arson and criminal damage to property, after the incident that took place on July 18th of last year, near the southeast corner Ogden Avenue and Naper Boulevard. Huber was not in the tent at the time. After his status hearing today, when asked if he had any comment, Povolo replied, “People make mistakes.” He will have another status hearing on October 25th.
