Metra Station Construction
The Naperville Metra Station is now under construction. The work is scheduled to last six weeks and will be carried out in three two-week phases. Parts of the station will be shut down during each phase. While no services will be shut down completely, commuters should plan for changes to station access, placement of bike racks and the number of daily fee machines available. Edward-Elmhurst Law Enforcement Officer of the Year
Naperville Police Officer Kevin Fasana was recently named the first recipient of Edward-Elmhurst Health’s Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. The 14-year veteran was honored for his ability to handle calls with people who have mental illness and leading the effort to provide mental health training for the department.
Chat with the Chief
And if you want to get to know some of your local police officers, Chat with the Chief is coming up on October 4. As part of National Coffee With a Cop Day, Naperville Police Chief Robert Marshall is inviting community members to come out and talk with him and his senior staff from 8 to 10 a.m. at the McDonalds located at 1298 South Naper Boulevard.
High School Volleyball
It was throwback night at Benet Academy for a girls volleyball match between the Redwings and Neuqua Valley. The game was played in the Alumni gym. These two teams met in a three set battle in the Benet Invite to start the season, but the Redwings were locked in on this night. After taking the first set 25-17, it was deja vu in the second set, with Benet finishing off the Wildcats by the same score to win in straight sets.
