Naperville 5th Avenue Development Workshop

The Naperville City Council wants to hear from you about the proposed 5th Avenue Development. They will hold a public workshop tonight at 6 at the Municipal Center to discuss the development. Council had assigned a task force to narrow the list of developers, which resulted in a recommendation for Ryan Companies. But after some council members complained about a lack of transparency in the process, the group decided to table the discussion and instead open it up to the public for their input.

Siren Warning System Maintenance

The city’s outdoor warning systems will be undergoing maintenance this week, and that means you might hear some warning sirens in your neighborhood. Workers will be replacing batteries and activating each siren individually during daytime hours. City officials say residents should not be alarmed if they hear sirens going off during periods of calm weather. Testing should be complete by September 1.
