Engage 204 Priorities

Last night the District 204 school board discussed the implementation of the results from the Engage 204 program. The community engagement program revealed the priorities of the public with the highest among them being class sizes. But it also has the heftiest price tag at $16.7 million. So the district is prioritizing a few cheaper things that the community asked for, including completing maintenance projects, hiring mental health staff, and finding a new home for Indian Plains, the alternative high school program. The district plans to tackle class sizes over the long term, as funding becomes available.

Randy Hultgren Town Halls

Congressman Randy Hultgren has announced several town hall events this week. The Republican representative of the 14th District of Illinois will hold two town halls tomorrow on August 15, one on August 16, and an E-Town Hall on August 17, all to take place throughout the 14th district. His Democratic challenger and constituent Lauren Underwood signed up for a chance to attend one of Hulgren’s town halls to speak to him in-person and potentially ask questions. Registration for attending the town halls is required and can be done on Hultgren’s website, as venue capacity is limited. To find out more about the town hall locations and register, check out
