Engage 204 Priorities
Last night the District 204 school board discussed the implementation of the results from the Engage 204 program. The community engagement program revealed the priorities of the public with the highest among them being class sizes. But it also has the heftiest price tag at $16.7 million. So the district is prioritizing a few cheaper things that the community asked for, including completing maintenance projects, hiring mental health staff, and finding a new home for Indian Plains, the alternative high school program. The district plans to tackle class sizes over the long term, as funding becomes available.
