Team Cup Challenge
The Naperville Summer Junior Tennis League held its popular Team Cup Challenge at Waubonsie Valley over the weekend. Over 65 kids participated, selecting the matchups and the team names for the 13 team tournament. In the junior division, the Brookdale Bears beat the Stillwater Colorful Hippos in a closely contested 12-point doubles tiebreaker to take first place. The Brookdale Bumblebees of the high school division came back in 2017 determined to follow up on their 1st place win from last year. The Stillwater River Runs fought hard, looking to bring victory to their club, but the Bumblebees’ singles players built a six game lead heading into the finals. Despite a strong doubles team win by the River Runs, the Bumblebees claimed an 18-14 triumph to repeat as champions.
