Greene Farm Barn

Tonight, residents and officials at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County will meet to discuss the potential of the Greene Farm Barn. Officials held a successful open house at the barn in June, where it sits on the corner of Hobson and Greene roads. The ideas brought forth there will be further discussed at the meeting tonight at 7 at the Woodridge Public Library.

Naperville City Swim Meet

It was a record-breaking edition of the Naperville City Swim Meet this weekend. On Friday night in the 15-18-age division, Alexa Puccini won multiple events for Maplebrook II including the 100 IM, 50 fly and a new meet record in the 50 free. Her Naperville Central teammate Lisa Johnson of Farmstead set the meet record in the 100 back. On the boys side, Kyri Chen of Neuqua Valley won the 50 free and the 100 back, while his Tall Grass teammate, Jared Simpson of Waubonsie Valley, smashed the meet records in the 100 breaststroke and the 100 IM. On Saturday, several more records fell including three from Centennial Beach swimmer McKenna Stone in the 13-14-division. The Metea Valley rising sophomore set records in the 50 free, 100 IM and the 50 fly. After finishing in second place last year, Tall Grass took the team City Championship, as two-time defending champion Saybrook finished as the runner up.

Tennis Legend Jimmy Connors

The Stonebridge Country Club in Aurora gave a select few local residents an unforgettable experience on Saturday, a tennis group lesson with the legendary Jimmy Connors. A winner of 8 Grand Slam titles and over 100 singles titles, Connors had plenty of expertise to share with the participants over the course of the practice. It ran for several hours, and was followed by a lunch and a Q & A session.
