Ready Set Ride
An area therapy barn for children with special needs has earned a reprieve from eviction. Yesterday a judge ruled that Ready Set Ride could remain at their location in Plainfield, throwing out an eviction notice from their landlord that would require them to vacate by Monday. Since news of the potential eviction first broke, the community has responded with over 80,000 signing an online petition to “Save Ready Set Ride” and over $21,000 raised through a GoFundMe page.
LGBTQ Panel Discussion
Tomorrow Congressman Bill Foster will host a panel discussion at the Alive Center here in Naperville focused on the issues our local and national LGBTQ community faces. The event will take place at 10 a.m. and is free and open to the public. The Alive Center is located off of 5th Avenue behind Naperville North High School.
Naperville Ale Fest
Also this weekend is the fifth annual Naperville Ale Fest. Taking place tomorrow from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Naper Settlement, the event will feature over 200 unique American craft beers. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
Local Shines in Pros
And in sports news, former Naperville North Softball star Sammy Marshall is excelling at the professional level. The outfielder is leading the Chicago Bandits with 17 runs in 24 games. Speed has been a big part of her game. Marshall also leads the team in stolen bases and triples while hitting .356 at the plate. The Chicago Bandits have won back-to-back National Pro Fastpitch titles.
