Ribfest Rolls Back Prices

Ribfest fans have dealt with some rough weather so far, and in response, the festival is rolling back entrance fees for Friday and Saturday, including concert admission. Tickets to see headliner Jake Owen tonight have been reduced to $30 and tomorrow’s show with Steven Tyler and the Loving Mary Band has been lowered to $50. Tickets are available online or at the gate. And there’s plenty more you can check out at the fest. To go along with the carnival rides and racks of ribs, there’s a full line up of music on the South Stage. Plus, you can catch the announcement of the Judges’ Rib Winners live at 3 p.m. on the NCTV17 Facebook page.

Ribfest Closes Twice Thursday

And after storms cut performances by Melissa Etheridge and The Stray Cats short on Wednesday’s opening night, Thursday once again saw multiple closures at Naperville’s Ribfest. The event was temporarily shut down around 1:30 p.m. before reopening at 3, only to close once again around 4:45 p.m. However, unlike Wednesday, the night’s headliner, Pitbull was able to complete his performance and the night ended with a fireworks show at 10 p.m. A happy end to another day of poor weather.

Local Dancer Places First

Naperville’s own Natalia Garcia placed first in the Artists In Training Junior Solo Dance Competition. The event was put on by Artists Simply Human in Orlando this past weekend. Garcia attends Clow Elementary School in District 204 and her mother owns the ballroom dance studio Dance Spot of DuPage in Naperville. Garcia won $300 for her winning performance.

On the girls side, Naperville Central senior Rylee Brower was selected as a 2nd team All-American after a great career with the Redhawks. Naperville North senior Isabelle Rocco was a 4th team All-American for the Huskies who finished in third at the state tournament.
