The Naperville Police Department is reminding residents to never drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol after the city was ranked 4th in the state for the most DUI arrests in 2016. According to the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists, the Naperville Police Department took 312 impaired drivers off the roads last year, equaling about 1.86 DUI arrests per officer.
Two Bostons Dog Walk
Tonight you and your furry friend can take a stroll with the crew at Two Bostons in Downtown Naperville to get out and get active. Walks begin at 6:30 p.m. and take place every Thursday through the Fall and are free to you and your dog.
Lost and Found
Councilwoman Patty Gustin has Facebook and an honest volunteer to thank after both came to her rescue to find her wedding band she lost while volunteering at Ribfest over the weekend. Gustin turned to Facebook in a plea to find the ring and Aurora resident Heather Gottfried, who was also volunteering in the same tent, found the ring at the bottom of a drink bin and safely returned it to Gustin.
Girsch to General Manager
Over the weekend 1994 Benet Academy alum, Michael Girsch received a big promotion. The former Redwing was named General Manager of the St. Louis Cardinals. Girsch has been with the Cardinals organization since 2006, and has served as the Assistant General Manager since 2011. While serving as the Assistant GM, the Cardinals have made the playoffs five times and won the 2011 World Series.
