DCM 30th Anniversary
This weekend the DuPage Children’s Museum celebrated their 30th anniversary. With a pop of confetti, kids and adults took to the museums many exhibits that focus on science, technology, engineering and math. Also open was the new AWEsome Water exhibit.
Water Street Complete
The Water Street District is officially complete. Over the weekend hundreds gathered to view the new restaurant and retail space that make up the district. Also unveiled was Streaming History, a mural series commissioned by the Naperville Century Walk that are featured along the Riverwalk. Both Mayor Chirico and Mayor Emeritus Pradel spoke on the progress that’s been made at the District.
Bret Michaels to Fling
Bret Michaels will headline the Main Stage at the Naperville Jaycees Last Fling on Saturday September 2. The legendary singer and songwriter has sold over 24 million records worldwide and has been seen on reality TV. Tickets are available now at www.LastFling.org.
Little League Championships
The Naperville Little League Championships were held on Saturday. In the Majors Championship, Frost Gelato jumped out to an early lead on Judd Kendall VFW, and hung on for the 4 to 1 victory. Judd Kendall VFW threatened several times throughout the game, but Frost Gelato rode its outstanding pitching staff to the championship victory. The Supreme Championship saw an offensive explosion from both teams, but the Illinois Cement Company powered its way to the title past Thrivent Financial in a game that saw 30 combined runs scored. It was the third time this season that Illinois Cement scored over 20 runs. Congratulations to all the teams on a fantastic season.
