Distillery Discussed at Naperville Liquor Commission
A distillery could be arriving in Naperville. The Liquor Commission heard from two locals at last night’s meeting about bringing the craft distillery, tasting room, and retail space to the city. The commission was enthusiastic about the project and approved the conceptual idea, but will need to modify the Class P license required by the distillery, which currently includes only breweries. Potential locations include the Old Nichols Library and some other industrial areas of town.
Love is in the air of downtown Naperville. Eighteen summer heart-shaped sculptures are now scattered throughout downtown thanks to the Downtown Naperville Alliance. The hearts are sponsored by Naperville business and were created by local artists. The art can take you from Paris to the animal kingdom and back in time to historic Naperville. A map of where to find the hearts is available on the Downtown Naperville website and they’ll be on display through mid-September.
Municipal Band Opens Season
It was “Another Opening, Another Show” for the Naperville Municipal Band last night. The set list was designed with an eye on celebrating Illinois’ Bicentennial year, including songs like the Illinois March… The band performs every Thursday night this summer at 7:30 p.m. Next week the theme is “Family Night” and you can catch the action on NCTV17.
