Stronger Thru Song:

This morning, Artful IMPACT! raised their voices to kick off “Stronger thru Song,” a daylong global outreach initiative started by the organization to support inclusivity and empowerment for individuals with special needs. A group from Artful IMPACT! connected via FaceTime with Kaylee Rogers, a young girl from Ireland with autism, whose performance of Hallelujah made a worldwide impact in a viral video. Today she joined voices with those here in Naperville, singing “Let It Go,” and speaking together about the strength that can be found through song.

Kindness March:

Also this morning, the kids from Kids Kampus Child Care and Early Learning Center brought a little extra sunshine ahead of the rain, as they put on a kindness march. The children, who ranged in age from 6 weeks to 5 years old, made signs and banners to show what kindness means to them. The event was part of the school’s celebration of the Week of the Young Child.

Support NCTV17:

NCTV17 invites you to come out to Granite City tonight for a Battle of the Bartenders. Past contestants of our station’s game show, “Game On” will be serving up drinks from 6pm until 8pm, with 20 percent of the proceeds donated back to our station, to help with our capital project to upgrade our studio to HD. If you can’t make it for the bartending show, dine-in or carryout a meal anytime today and show this flyer from our website and the same donation will apply.

Water Polo Action:

Last night two of the state’s top three teams in girls water polo went head to head at Naperville Central. The Redhawks hoped to avenge an earlier loss to the 2nd ranked Mighty Macs of Mother McAuley. The Central offense got it going early as Emily Westlove scored three goals in the first half as the Redhawks took a 4-1 lead into the break. A tenacious defense and the goalkeeping of Sara Campbell put the clamps on the Macs offense as the Redhawks went on to win the match by the score of 8 to 4.
