Illinois Miss Amazing

It was an amazing weekend for girls and young women who competed in the Illinois Miss Amazing competition at the Yellow Box Church. This non-profit pageant celebrated girls and women with disabilities by building self-esteem and confidence in a supportive environment. Of the 50 girls who competed, a queen is chosen from each age group and will go on to represent the state at National Miss Amazing.

Central vs. Neuqua Baseball

Neuqua Valley slipped past Naperville Central in a thriller for the regional baseball championship a year ago. These two teams met up again on Saturday and the matchup was just as intense. Redhawks pitcher Ryan Eierman helped himself at the plate with an rbi single in the third, the senior also struck out twelve Wildcat batters in six innings. But Neuqua wouldn’t go away quietly with two outs in the bottom of the 7th, the Wildcats got a double and an infield single that scored James Gargano to tie the game at three. Noah Herdman then completed the comeback with a two run walk off home run off Tyler Brinker to win the game 5 to 3. The win kept the Wildcats undefeated on the season. These two teams square off again today and tomorrow at 4:30.
