What’s your favorite part of the Riverwalk? A new survey now available on the city of Naperville’s website looks to answer that question and hear any other comments the public may have about the Riverwalk to help determine its future. Survey participants will also be asked to weigh in on future Riverwalk projects and determine which amenities they like or would like changed. You can access the survey on the Riverwalk’s website.
Sexual Assault Awareness
And this weekend the Riverwalk was illuminated to raise awareness for sexual assault. As April is sexual assault awareness month, a local group called “Reclaiming Me” lit candles along the Free Speech Pavilion to help educate and advocate for the cause. The group hopes the event will help others recognize warning signs of sexual assault.
Road Construction begins today to help make way for a new subdivision to be built on the southwest side of town. Wolf’s Crossing Road will be realigned to accommodate Ashwood Crossing, a new subdivision of 61 houses and 42 duplexes for people 55 and older. Wolf’s Crossing Road will be constructed to now connect between Normantown Road and 95th Street.
Boys Volleyball Tournament
The final rounds of the Wheaton Warrenville South Tiger Classic boys
volleyball tournament took place this weekend. Naperville North put up a tough fight on Friday night, but the Huskies fell to eventual tournament champions Lake Park in two sets. Metea Valley also fell in two sets to Brother Rice, but bounced back to make the bronze division championship. Neuqua Valley won the bronze division title over the Mustangs in three sets, while Naperville Central finished third in the silver division.
