Daily Fee Machines Down

The City of Naperville’s daily parking fee machines at both the Route 59 and Naperville Metra train stations are out of service until further notice. Only credit card payments that use the pay-by-phone or daily fee payment services will be interrupted. Machines will still accept cash and Smart Card payments and parking citations will not be issued at train stations until a permanent fix to this issue is in place. City staff is working to fix the problem and a Commuter Connection will be issued once services are restored.

Easter Events This Weekend

With Easter baskets and flashlights in hand, over 100 kids raced to collect 2,000 Easter eggs last night for the Flashlight Egg Hunt. The Naperville Park District’s annual event scatters Easter eggs with fun prizes inside throughout Knoch Knolls Park. This weekend kids can continue the Easter fun at Safety Town for their Hoppy Easter event from 10 a.m. to noon or head over to Frontier Park for the Naperville Jaycees’ annual egg hunt that begins at 8:55 a.m. Both events are free, and non-perishable food donations to Loaves & Fishes will be collected as well.

Women of Influence in Illinois

Last night the Naperville Public Library hosted “Her Story: Women of Influence in Illinois” where historian Julia Bacharach spoke about the many inspirational women who made significant contributions throughout our area’s history. Included in the discussion was how most of the influential women have yet to be recognized or commemorated. The talk is just one of several events the library is hosting to honor Illinois’ bicentennial.

Naperville Golfer at Augusta National

It’s an exciting weekend for local junior golfer Andrew Lim and his family. The 13-year-old Naperville native earned the honor of participating in the Drive, Chip and Putt National Finals. The event will be held at Augusta National, home of The Masters golf tournament. Andrew won the regional last summer and will be competing against nine other junior golfers in his age division on Sunday. Best of luck, Andrew!
