Local Students Score High
44 Naperville-area high school students earned the perfect score of 36 on the ACT during the 2017-2018 school year. Roughly one-tenth of one percent of all test takers achieve a perfect score on the college readiness exam. 29 students from District 203 made the achievement and 15 students from District 204 earned the top score. This was the last school year both Naperville school districts administered the ACT, before switching over to the SAT.
Chrissy Metz to Anderson’s
Chrissy Metz, the actress known for her role in NBCs “This is Us” will be coming to Anderson’s Bookshop. Metz will be promoting her new book “This is Me: Loving The Person You Are Today.” The event includes a presentation, audience Q & A session, and a book signing. You can see Metz on April 5 at Pfeiffer Hall on the campus of North Central College.
Zach Miller in Naperville
Last night Chicago Bears tight end Zach Miller came out to Dean’s Dugout in Naperville. Fans could pay $25 to meet Miller and take photos and he signed memorabilia like cleats and helmets. Miller suffered a career-threatening injury last season but is hoping to return to the field for the Bears soon and said the fan support in Chicagoland has been incredible.
NCC Men’s Volleyball
It was an exciting weekend for North Central College Men’s Volleyball. The Cardinals celebrated senior day for the first time in the program’s three-year history. To cap things off, NCC won matches against Greenville on Friday in straight sets, and on Saturday against Fontbonne in four sets to send the seniors out in style. The Cardinals stayed a perfect 7 and 0 in conference play with two games remaining on the schedule. North Central has now qualified for the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League Playoffs for the first time.
