Naperville Woman’s Club

Last night, the Naperville Woman’s Club celebrated 120 years in town. The group held a birthday party at their headquarters on Washington Street, but instead of receiving gifts they gave them away! The group donated a total of $15,000 to many local charities like Loaves and Fishes, 360 Youth Services and Ecumenical Adult Care of Naperville.

Summer Sculptures

In Downtown Naperville this summer, books come to life in a whole new way. That’s thanks to the Downtown Naperville Alliance’s summer sculptures, which will feature 15 of these book benches spread throughout Downtown. The sculptures recently arrived in town, and will now be given to groups and artists to decorate before they are put on display on Father’s Day weekend.

NBA in Naperville

Tomorrow night, two-time NBA Champion and former Chicago Bull Craig Hodges will come to town to discuss his book “Long Shot: The Triumphs and Struggles of an NBA Freedom Fighter.” Taking place at 7 p.m. at Anderson’s Bookshop in Downtown Naperville, the event is free and open to the public, but you must purchase the book from Anderson’s to join the signing line.

NNHS Girls Soccer

Naperville North girls soccer, the preseason number one team in the state opened up conference play at Wheaton North last night. The game was scoreless at halftime as the temperature dipped into the low 30’s, but the Huskies were able to heat up in the second half thanks to goals from Morgan Krause and Morgan Lockridge.
