Armed Carjacking

Naperville police are currently looking for two men suspected of a carjacking in the 2100 block of Allegra Circle. Around 8 last night police responded to a report that two men – one with a handgun and wearing a mask – approached a man and his 4-year-old in a red 2016 Nissan Rogue. The men demanded the keys and the driver’s cell phone. The driver and his child got out of the vehicle, and the two suspects fled in the vehicle. The men are described as black males, about 20 years old, both wearing hoodies. No one was injured in the incident. Anyone with any information should contact the Naperville Police Department.

 High School Girls Soccer

Last night the girls soccer season kicked off as Naperville North welcomed the defending state champions of Barrington to open the year. Barrington went 28 and 1 in 2017, ending the season as the number one ranked team in the country by USA Today, with the only loss coming to Naperville North. Early on the offense was as cold as the temperature with neither team scoring a goal in the first half, but the visiting Fillies struck twice in the second half to take a two-goal lead. The Huskies battled back in the final 15 minutes of the game, scoring twice earning a hard fought 2-2 tie.

Central Graduate Signs with Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It was an exciting day for former Naperville Central football star Cameron Brate. The tight end signed a six year, $41 million dollar contract to stay with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After signing as an undrafted free agent out of Harvard in 2014, the former Redhawk has caught more than 125 passes and 17 touchdowns the last three seasons.
