Angie’s Hope to Cure SMA
Tonight local group Angie’s Hope, which raises funds and awareness for Cure SMA, or Spinal Muscular Atrophy, is hosting their 10th annual fundraiser. This year it’s a dance at Meson Sabika, themed “PROMise to Cure SMA”. Over the past 10 years, the group has raised over $200,000, and this year they’ve already surpassed the $40,000 mark. Park District Job Fair
On Saturday, the Naperville Park District will host a job fair, for those interested in part-time and seasonal employment. Taking place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, the event is open to adults and teens interested in working for the park district this summer, with a few positions open year round. Available positions are also posted on the park district’s website.
YA March Madness
The Naperville Public Library is getting in on March Madness, with their YA March Madness contest, but instead of basketball, it’s books! From now through the end of March, Young Adult books that came out in 2016 are pitted against each other in head-to-head brackets. You can vote for your favorites on the library’s website, with the winner announced April 4.
NCC Men’s Basketball
North Central College men’s basketball capped off a historic performance in the CCIW tournament last weekend. The Cardinals became the first four seed to win the CCIW tourney, taking down top seeded Carthage and Augustana in the championship game. Winners of eight of their last 10 games, the Cardinals will face Wooster tomorrow night at 5:30 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA Division III tournament. It is the 9th NCAA appearance for North Central and the 4th in the last six seasons.
