Water rates in Naperville are on the rise. At a City Council workshop last night, Council approved a roughly two to three dollar increase on the average residents monthly bill annually through the year 2021 after a planned rate study took place. The increase is due to operation costs, covering the cost of service and to fund a portion of a new Illinois EPA requirement to remove more phosphorus from the water.
Naperville North administrators are investigating after a video of two students making racial comments appeared on social media over the weekend. School administrators say the video does not represent the school community and have met with the students and their parents. The video has since been taken down.

There will be a new 4A girls basketball state champion this year. After an incredible two year run, Benet Academy was eliminated by the undefeated Edwardsville Tigers last night 59-38 in the super sectionals. The Redwings had eliminated Edwardsville the past two seasons en route to a state title.
Boys basketball playoffs also began last night with regional quarter final action. Naperville Central fell just short against York by a score of 50-47, while Waubonsie Valley also saw its season come to an end at the hands of Addison Trail. The most exciting game of the night saw Metea Valley completing a thrilling 70-63 upset over Batavia, thanks to a long three pointer from Peyton Thorne to send the game to overtime. The Mustangs move on to face Naperville North tonight in the regional semi finals. Neuqua Valley and Benet Academy are also in regional semi final games tonight.
