Two Burglaries in Naperville

Naperville Police investigated two home break-ins and burglaries on Wednesday night. Burglars stole jewelry and other items at a home in the 1600 block of Imperial Circle and a home in the 600 block of Century Farm Lane, which are less than a mile apart. Seven home burglaries have occurred in Naperville this month and eight were reported in January, according to police. All were forced-entry break-ins during daylight hours when homeowners were away.

Park District Job Fair

Tomorrow the Naperville Park District will host its annual job fair. Information and applications for summer and seasonal part-time job opportunities will be available at park district facilities such as the Riverwalk Café, Centennial Beach, and Knoch Knolls Nature Center. The job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center.

Pies in Face

Pies were flying into faces last night for a special fundraiser event at ATI Physical Therapy. Donating money toward the company’s non-profit ATI Foundation got you a pie to throw in the face of physical therapists. The ATI Foundation raises funds to benefit kids with physical impairments whose families can’t afford care for them. The foundation currently has 120 kids on its waiting list and hopes this fundraiser can help all of them.

Girls Basketball

Only two girls basketball teams are left in the sectional championship round, playing last night. Naperville Central faced off against Bolingbrook at Neuqua Valley. Going into the game, the redhawks knew that the raiders defense would be an aggressive machine and that proved true throughout the entire match up. The raiders came out on fire right from the tip, knocking down numerous three pointers and not letting Central’s lead scorer, Mia Lakstigala, get any easy shots. After the break, Lakstigala and the redhawks knocked down some baskets and worked their way in o the paint but their efforts would not be enough. The raiders roll on to the super sectionals after defeating Central 54-39.
