Police Seek Information
The Naperville Police Department is asking for help in identifying a man to check on his well being. On February 12 a man described as approximately 30 years old, entered the BP Amoco gas station on Washington Street, and while purchasing cigarettes wrote a note on a receipt advising that someone took his wallet and they had a weapon. He then got into a black SUV, possibly a BMW X5 or X6. If you have any information contact the police department’s investigation division at 630-420-6666.
Feed the Need
This weekend over 5,000 volunteers came out to North Central College for the sixth year of Feed the Need which benefits Feed My Starving Children. Volunteers donated their time to help pack food packages to give over 2,000 children around the world one meal a day for a year.
Waubonsie Valley Girls Bowling
At the Cherry Bowl in Rockford this weekend, Waubonsie Valley girls bowling brought home another state trophy. Trailing O’Fallon by over 40 pins entering the final game, the Warriors rolled a 988, securing the team’s 2nd third place trophy in the last three years. Harlem won the state championship while Lockport finished as the runner up.
State Wrestling Meet
Naperville made its presence felt at the state wrestling meet in Champaign this weekend. Waubonsie Valley had two wrestlers finish in the top five at the state meet. Mason Kroening shocked the field, making it to the state championship match at 195 pounds. The senior finished as the runner up to Patrick Brucki of Sandburg. It’s the best finish for a Waubonsie wrestler since 1998. Teammate Nick Sondag earned his state medal after defeating Naperville Central’s Christian Nussbaum in the fifth place match at 220 pounds. Nussbaum’s Redhawk teammate Jake Keating was also a state medalist, winning the fifth place match at 145 pounds.
