Naperville Now 02-15-18 Acquires Naperville Companies: has acquired Naperville-based Dealer Inspire and Launch Digital Marketing. Both tech companies help provide digital solutions to automotive dealers. The $165 million dollar deal could increase by $40 million if performance incentives are met. plans to integrate the tech companies’ strategies in their own sales network, to be used to help its more than 20,000 dealer customers.

Terror Training:

Sunday night the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office conducted a full-scale training exercise at the Fox Valley Mall. The drill was done after-hours, and involved both the Special Operations Unit and the Hazardous Device Unit. The scenario, involving suspects with suicide vests holding hostages, was designed to better prepare the department in the event of a terror incident.

Girls Basketball Playoffs:

The girls basketball playoffs continued last night as Neuqua Valley travelled to Naperville Central for a regional semi final matchup. The Wildcats took a 2-0 lead early, but from that point on, Central went on an incredible 36 to nothing run, putting the game out of reach early. The Wildcats tried to claw back in the third, cutting the deficit to under 20, but Mia Lakstigala scored 24 points to lead the Redhawks to a 62-36 win.

It was a similar story in the 2nd game of the night with Naperville North playing Lemont. Lemont hit the first three pointer of the game to go up 3-0, but the Huskies responded with a 17-0 run and 31 total points in the first quarter. North cruised to a 68-38 win, led by 17 points and 10 rebounds from senior Lauren Platou. The Huskies will face Naperville Central in the regional championship tomorrow night at 7pm at Naperville Central.

Metea Principal Honored:

And finally, congratulations to Metea Valley Principal Darrell Echols, for being named the Aurora African-American Leader of the Year. The award is given annually by the city of Aurora’s African American Heritage Advisory Board, and honors one who has demonstrated leadership and commitment to Aurora’s African-American community and the city at large.
