Edward-Elmhurst Prescribes Naloxone
Edward-Elmhurst Health is now prescribing naloxone to accompany opioid pain relievers. The opioid overdose reversal drug allows users to regain consciousness and breathing in the case of an overdose. Edward-Elmhurst began the protocol on January 8, which requires doctors to prescribe the medication as a backup to opioid pain relievers.
KidsMatter Report Tomorrow
Tomorrow, KidsMatter will be presenting the 2018 State of the Kids Community Report. Youth resource organizations and community leaders will discuss the results of the Stress Matters Survey of seventh and tenth graders in the area conducted last year. KidsMatter Youth Team Community Resource tables will open at 6 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 7 p.m. at the Municipal Center.
Park District Podcast Questions
The Naperville Park District is accepting questions to be answered during the State of the Naperville Park District podcast. Two questions may be submitted per person. The Park Talk Podcast begins in February and will include interviews with commissioners and staff, and include a wide range of topics.
Naperville area teams and athletes made their presence felt at state competitions this weekend. Naperville North girls dance finished tenth at state on Saturday, the first top ten finish for the Huskies in program history. At the boys bowling meet in O’Fallon, Metea Valley senior Ian Ridgway had a stellar performance at his first state weekend. His 221-average landed the Mustang in sixth place, earning him All-State honors. At the cheerleading sectionals, Neuqua Valley finished as the runner up at Belvidere North, earning the Wildcats a trip to state this weekend.
