Local runners might add another marathon to their busy schedule next year, but this particular one will actually be right in town.
The inaugural Naperville Marathon is set for next November.
The full course and half marathon course haven’t been set yet but will start near 95th Street and Book Road, and will cross into Plainfield and Bolingbrook.
The run will be capped off at 4,000 runners, less than nearby marathons.
“We want to make sure that this is an event that doesn’t leave a mark on the city and the runners,” said Bob Hackett, one of the race directors for the marathon. “This is supposed to be something that’s good for both.”
But like those nearby marathons, the Naperville Marathon can be used as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon in April 2014.
Registration begins January 28th.
