Naperville Liquor Commission Update – November 2016

Creations By Stems, a local floral business that currently goes to people’s homes for floral arranging parties, is looking to set up a permanent shop in downtown, and they’re asking for a liquor license to serve beer and wine during their arranging parties.

At the most recent Naperville Liquor Commission meeting, their request was granted, pending council approval.

Also at the meeting, commissioners discussed increasing fines or penalties for businesses with multiple underage tobacco sale offenses.

“We have to be able to enforce this regulation. And it’s clear that the tobacco violations for underage sale are significantly higher on a regular basis compared to liquor,” said Mayor of the City of Naperville, Steve Chirico.

In the month of October, 70 businesses underwent a tobacco compliance check by the police, with three failing, two of which were repeat offenders.
