The “Great Redhawk Resale” is Naperville Central’s version of the good ‘ole “American Yard Sale”. The NCHS band boosters recently held the three-day event.
Central families brought their sporting goods, clothes, school supplies, and even used furniture in the hopes that their old goods would become someone else’s treasures.
The money will go towards new equipment and travel expenses for the band, as well as color guard and speech programs.
“We have a number of student volunteers manning several of the positions. They help with the sorting and pricing of the goods. So it is really a good event that we can engage the students in to help themselves fund their own programs,” said Paul Sweeney. Sweeney is the Vice President of the NCHS Band Booster Association.
Some of the proceeds will also go towards student scholarships based on financial need.
