At the most recent Liquor Commission meeting, representatives from the BP on Brookdale Road and Route 59, and from the PRIDE store, which is looking to open in town in 2018, spoke to the commission. Both were requesting a variation to current liquor code, which would allow them to sell packaged alcohol.
While no official decisions were made, the commission was supportive of the idea, directing staff to look at what neighboring towns allow and drafting potential variances.
The topic will be discussed again at the February Liquor Commission meeting.
