After a summer of block bluster hits, indie films are now getting their chance on the big screen.
The Naperville Independent Film Festival takes place September 15th through the 22nd and will feature a variety of films from documentaries to animations and music videos.
Filmmakers from around the world entered the competition and were narrowed down by a jury.
The 35 films in this year’s event will be premiered throughout Naperville at Hollywood Palms, Ogden 6 and North Central College.
“We have features, documentaries, shorts, animation and last year we added music videos also, so there is something for everybody.” said Glessna Coisson.
This is the fifth year for the festival started by Glessna and Edmond Coisson.
“Number one, its our passion but I think its fun for anyone who likes movies, you will not see these movies anywhere else in the world unless you go to a film festival.” said Edmond Coisson.
The husband and wife film enthusiast team started producing their own indie films and after joking about starting their own film fest, it became a reality in 2007.
The trophy awarded to the winner of the film festival is actually made in the same place as the Oscars.
