DePaul University will be closing its Naperville campus next summer.
The local outpost of the university has been on Warrenville Road since 1997: opened to help make access to higher education easier for those out in the western suburbs.
By fall of 1999, students were logging more than 24,600 credit hours. But those numbers have declined over the years: falling to 700 by last fall. With lower enrollment, and an uptick in students opting for online courses, the decision was made to close the Naperville campus after spring term of next year.
Final classes will end in June 2017, with the official closing taking place in August.
