The Naperville Area Humane Society is having a party and you’re invited.
During the month of April, the humane society is aiming to reduce negative stereotypes of pit bulls and pit-mixes, with their second annual “Pittie Party.”
“People have a negative perception of the breed, which is unfortunate because they are really good dogs, so we want to try and break that stereotype because as they saying goes, you can’t judge a book by it’s cover, you shouldn’t judge a dog just by what it looks like. The important thing is really getting to know them, making sure the personality is right for you lifestyle and is a good fit for your family,” said Anna Payton, Executive Director of the Naperville Area Humane Society.
Anyone who adopts a pit or pit-mix in April will receive a special gift bag, full of goodies to help the transition home for your new furever friend.
This promotion is in partnership with the Bickell Foundation, so adopters will also receive autographed memorabilia from Blackhawks player Bryan Bickell.
If you already have a pit, you can brag about your pooch by using #NAHSPittieParty on social media.
