Naperville Area Humane Society’s Outdoor Expansion

Tails are wagging at the Naperville Area Humane Society, over their new outdoor space.

The recent expansion includes two new meet and greet areas for potential adopters to interact with pups, nine outdoor kennels for dogs to spend some time in the sun and two large play areas, complete with agility equipment.

But these renovations weren’t just for looks.

“We were super excited to be able to do this project. Obviously this is going to add to the dog’s social enrichment, they’ll be able to get more exercise and that lends them to being more calm in the kennel, reducing their stress, which in turn decreases their likelihood of getting any disease or illness while in the shelter,” said Naperville Area Humane Society’s Executive Director, Anna Payton.

The $190,000 project was completed in two months by Wolf Pack Development Group. It also includes an area of engraved bricks, which you can purchase to help the Humane Society.

And if you’re looking to adopt, through the rest of June, all adult cats are just $10 and kittens are $75.
