Route 59 won’t be the only major road with lane closures during the summer.
Resurfacing work is expected to begin anytime now for Naper Boulevard from Gartner Road to Chicago Avenue.
This will cause traffic to be reduced to a single lane in each direction.
The city has reserved $810,000 from the federal government as part of the city’s annual street resurfacing program, which includes improvements to 24 miles of roadways from May to October.
As for Naper Boulevard, it’s resurfacing is due for completion in mid-August.
