Electronic signs warn drivers along Naper Boulevard of traffic delays due to road construction that’s supposed to begin today but the work’s nowhere in sight.
Crews should be starting work anytime now to resurface the street from where it meets Gardner Road to where it intersects Chicago Avenue, causing traffic to be reduced to one line in each direction, and slated for completion in mid-August.
The City of NapArville has reserved $810,000 from the the federal government as part of the city’s Annual Street Resurfacing Program, which includes improvements to 24 miles of roadways from May until October.
Tune into Naperville News 17 on Friday when we’ll have an update on the project.
In the meantime, downtown crews are busy finishing up the resurfacing of municipal-owned parking lots like the one at Central park.
